How to Purchase and Start a Course

EstateMaster has made it as simple as possible for you to get started and become certified as quickly as possible. To be able to enroll in the online courses below, you must be an active student of a participating university and have a valid student email address.

Simply follow these steps

  1. Click 'Book Now' on one of the course below.
  2. Click 'Add to Cart' to confirm your selection and add the course to the shopping cart.
  3. Fill in your details and complete the online payment process as prompted. Please ensure you use your student email address, otherwise the enrolment will fail.
  4. An email will then be sent with your login details so you can get started instantly (Note: please check your spam folder as emails can be caught within spam).

As part of the course, you will be required to install and operate the EstateMaster software. Please read this important information about running EstateMaster on a MAC before proceeding to purchase the course.

Development Feasibility UPP Student Certification Course


Module Outline

Module 1: Introduction

This provides a general outline of the EstateMaster Development Feasibility Course. In here we explain everything you need to do in order to complete the online course successfully. We also provide you with a starting ‘navigation’ to assist you on where you are for each module and what you still need to complete.

Module 2: Feasibility Theory

  • Theory understanding the different methods of feasibility.
  • Exploring discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis.
  • Explanation of hurdle rates and how to apply them.
  • Understanding the risks behind property development and mitigating them.

Module 3: Exploring DF

  • Navigating all of the elements within the software.
  • Understanding the different settings and preferences.
  • How to input the variables (e.g costs, revenues, etc).
  • Analysing the reports and financial outputs.

Module 4: Case Studies

EstateMaster provides you with three different case studies that you are required to enter into the software. The case studies focus on the following areas:

  • Case Study 1: A large residential lot subdivision.
  • Case Study 2: A variation of Case Study 1.
  • Case Study 3: A residential apartment building development.

Module 5: Certification Exam

To ensure that you have a full understanding of what you have learnt through the course, we provide you with a 118-question quiz to assess your level of skill.

  • Mixture of questions (fill in the blank, multiple choice).
  • 90 min time limit to ensure its finished within a practical time.
  • One attempt only provided.

Investment Appraisal UPP Student Certification Course


Module Outline

Module 1: Introduction

This provides a general outline of the EstateMaster Investment Appraisal Course. In here we explain everything you need to do in order to complete the online course successfully. We also provide you with a starting ‘navigation’ to assist you on where you are for each module and what you still need to complete.

Module 2: Valuation Theory and Lease Terms

  • A review of what ‘Investment Appraisal’ is.
  • Theory of income capitalisation and DCF valuation approaches.
  • Lease terminology and application.

Module 3: Exploring IA

  • Demonstration of the basic functions of EstateMaster IA.
  • Inputting data and setting preferences.
  • Using the ‘Tenants’ worksheet to enter lease information.
  • Interpreting the different reports.

Module 4: Case Study

EstateMaster provides you with a specific case study that you are required to enter into the software. It focuses on the following areas:

  • Inputting tenancy data for a commercial office building in EstateMaster IA to forecast its long-term cash flow.
  • Determining an optimum acquisition price for the property.
  • Using DCF and Capitalisation approaches to value the building.

Module 5: Certification Exam

To ensure that you have a full understanding of what you have learnt through the course, we provide you with a 60-question quiz to assess your level of skill.

  • Mixture of questions (fill in the blank, multiple choice).
  • 60 min time limit to ensure its finished within a practical time.
  • One attempt only provided.
